Jonas Wearhouse

On those Men's Wearhouse commercials, the guy is always assuring men that they're going to like the way they look, he guarantees it. So it was with Jonas this morning, who got to wear a shirt with a real-life tractor on it. He seemed skeptical at first, but once he saw himself in the mirror, he liked the way he looked. We could have guaranteed it.

New Trucks

There may be no cooler site than watching your little boy play with new trucks you've bought him. Jonas got three cool trucks (or "das" in his world...) just because Dad couldn't resist this week. They've even got magnets to keep them together, should he ever want to do such a crazy thing. Apparently, they're much more fun to play with while they're apart.

Hey Ladies

Oh, hey ladies. How you doin? Oh, you checking out my crib? Pretty awesome, huh? Yeah, that's right. That's a plane over there. And a truck. Pretty fantastic, I know. Why don't you come on in here and I'll point to them for you. Yeah, we can just sit here under my mobile that also has planes and trucks and we can just point to them. All night long.

On the Move

Dad likes this shot of our little man in motion, doing his thing with his cars and trucks.

Back to Himself

Jonas is back to his old self this morning, the first time in over a week that we can say that. It's nice to have him back. To appreciate his transition from sick mess to healthy boy, here's a shot from last week and one from this morning. Nice to have him back...

Stop it Dad!

What happens when you're a dehydrated, ear-infected, stuffy-nosed, messy-haired, cranky mess and your Dad tries anything he can to get you to drink, including a nice warm bottle and a sippy cup of delicious clear liquid, and you don't want any of it? Well, it looks something like this...

New Tricks

It seems everyone these days is trying to encourage Jonas to get up on those substantial feet of his. The other day at his Mima's house, her dog Moxie did his best to show the Big Guy how it's done...
...but despite Moxie's best efforts, he couldn't compete with a truck and a wall...
...and afterward, Jonas was content just watching poor Mox trying to do what he could.

Motherly Support

Jonas has had himself another tough week, working his way through all sorts of molars invading his mouth and, from what the doctor said today, ear infections in both ears! Poor guy. When you feel that bad, sometimes the best place in the world is just to be close to Mom.

Movin' On Up

In recent days, Jonas has shown some newfound adventurous spirit, including amazing progress getting up on a chair we recently bought him. While we're still not walking, we're getting closer and closer to at least moving skyward. What started out as a tentative rise to his feet to reach some trucks Mom placed on the top of his chair the other day has quickly morphed into an aggressive assault upwards as Jonas makes the move up the chair with ease. Here's a sequence showing the Big Guy movin' on up.

Creek Fest (Outtakes)

While we like to believe everything is always laughs and smiles with Jonas, of course that's not always the case. Today, in fact, as Jonas suffers through the agony of molars thrusting their way into his mouth, it's been a bit rough. And on our outing to Boulder the other day, we had one effort at fun that went awry. As you can see, Jonas didn't exactly enjoy his first experience on Dad's shoulders...
...but while we even find that adorable in its own way, we simply can't leave this post on a sour note. So, here's another shot Mom took of Jonas enjoying the flora along Boulder Creek...
...ah, that's better.
