Trip to the Zoo

Jonas has been to a couple of zoos before, but each time he was either with Mom or with Dad alone. This weekend, though, the whole family went together to one of the coolest zoos they'd ever been to, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. What makes this zoo unique is that it sits on the side of a mountain, leading to some steep climbs, but some amazing scenery in which to take in the animals. Cheyenne Mountain has lots of amazing creatures, but they are known for their large population of giraffes, which you get up close and personal with. Jonas was in awe...
...in fact, he liked just about every exhibit, reaching out to take a look at whatever came his way...
...and there was plenty to see. The zoo had tigers...
...and bears...
...even meerkats...
...and Jonas got a kick out of seeing some fish fly by as well...
...Jonas even seemed mesmerized by the buttons in the elevators, which were thankfully placed throughout to help Moms and Dads carting around strollers...
...outside, the views had him looking on in similar fashion...
...best of all for the Big Guy, he got to try out his newfound walking skills...
...at one point, he even found himself a flower, which pleased him to no end as he has recently learned how to say that word...
...but while Jonas had a blast seeing all the animals, his favorite experience of all was perhaps predictable. That would be when a large golf cart came by, causing Jonas to crane his neck like one of the zoo's animals to get himself a better look...
