After the Storm

Two days and two feet of snow later, Mom, Dad and Jonas couldn't believe how much of the white stuff had fallen when we woke up this morning. It was beautiful, but it was everywhere. Our back deck barely showed signs of evidence that it houses a grill...
...Jonas was especially intrigued by the drifts along the back door, which went several feet high...
...almost as high as a little boy who wants out in the snow...
...and so out we went, catching up with our neighbor who thankfully has an ATV attached with a snow plow. Mom and Dad took four different shifts over the last day shoveling the driveway, which was in good shape after our efforts. But the space between our driveway and the street was a seemingly impenetrable mountain of snow after the street plow came through. Luckily our neighbor was happy to help with that. In fact, other neighbors were having ATV fun too. That's an ATV pulling a girl in an inner tube on the left...
...Jonas was even lucky enough to sit on the machine, which he called a tractor...
...after that, it was a stroll around the neighborhood to assess the damage...
...and everywhere he went, Jonas liked what he saw: snow plows, snow blowers, people shoveling, kids on sleds, powdery snow to touch, slush to step in, you name it. The Big Guy had a big smile on his face, which gave Dad and Mom big smiles too...
...but the best part of all? After four back-breaking rounds of shoveling, Mom and Dad were most encouraged by Jonas' interest in the shovel. Soon my friend, soon.
