Mr. Mom

Today is a pivotal day for Mom and Dad as Mom went back to work this morning and Dad begins two weeks home as Mr. Mom. Things got off to an inauspicious start yesterday when Dad realized about halfway through the washing machine cycle that, yes, his cell phone was in the pocket of his shorts being washed. Turns out cell phones don't like the wash.
This morning, Mom toughed her way through the difficult process of returning to work. But in an unfortunate sequence of events, after reading a card Jonas had thoughtfully left her in the car, she turned on the radio and heard the worst parenting song ever written: "Cats in the Cradle." Dad wasn't sure which was worse, that the song came on the radio at the worst possible moment, or that Mom came back in the house to say she thought Dad had left the song on a CD for her as a joke. (Dad may be untrustworthy when it comes to technology, but he's not that mean!)
In any case, half the day is almost through, and everyone seems to be getting by just fine. Especially since we can all communicate by our brand new iPhones.

  1. Does putting something in the laundry always guarantee a new one? If I leave my car in my pocket does that mean I can go get a minivan? Oh please say so!!
Enjoy your time home Mr. Mom... it's awesome!
Jonas, be nice to daddy- he's new at this. Save a good smile for mommy when she gets home. I'm sure she will think it's the best gift she ever gets!
