Beach Bum

Jonas may have been technically born at the beach, but his exposure to sand and surf has been somewhat limited, even more so in his home in Colorado. So it was quite the adventure yesterday when he got to experience the place Dad spent all his summers as a kid, the Sands at Atlantic Beach beach club. There, Jonas took an immediate dip in the pool, having a great time splashing around as Mom, Dad and Papa kept a watchful eye...

...the pool proved exhausting, or maybe it was the heat, and Jonas came back ready for a mid-morning siesta...

...he woke up ready for action, though, which in Jonas' case means it was time to eat. And oh did he feast, making his Nana pleased beyond delight...

...after that, it was time to get back in the water, this time at a little pool near Nana and Papa's cabana. There, Jonas thought it was amusing that Dad was trying to make him grow by using a watering can...

...pools were fine for a while, but it wasn't long before Jonas wanted to check out the real action down by the ocean. At first he seemed a bit surprised by the experience of feeling the waves crash along his feet. But with Mom, Dad, Nana and Papa nearby, he seemed to eventually take a liking to it...

...after that, it was time to go back to the sand, where even more fun awaited in the form of trucks! We're not sure it was possible for Jonas to have any more trucks in his lap, but he started scoping out what else was available in eyeshot just in case...

...Dad's family stayed late to watch some beach fireworks, but for Jonas it all proved just a bit too exhausting. So he, Mom and Dad ducked out to go back home. And Jonas, doing what his Dad did countless times on the same ride as a boy, promptly passed out, dreaming no doubt of all the fun he had at the beach.
