Day of Adventure

Yesterday was a big day of adventure, both for Jonas and Mom and Dad. In a rare and momentous treat, Jonas got to take his first real outing without Mom and Dad as his Nana and Papa took him and his cousin Julia to the local pool. There, it was reported, Jonas didn't care much for the experience at first until he caught on a few minutes in and sat and splashed for a half hour or so. While the Big Guy was enjoying his outing, Mom and Dad took advantage by heading into the Big City for some fun alone time. There, they covered a lot of ground, including the new Highline Park built where an elevated train line used to be...
...then it was off to Midtown, where Mom got to have some fun at Bergdoff-Goodman, site of her favorite app that shows off the overpriced shoe of the day. This time, Mom got to see the shoes up close and personal, including this doozy for $2,695, a real bargain!
...it wasn't too long though, before Mom and Dad started missing Jonas, so they decided to head back. But as a treat, they were able to connect with Jonas' Uncle Alden and Uncle Eric on the train ride home, reuniting Dad with his brothers...
...riding the train with Uncle A, though, is a real treat. A few years back, he had his 15 minutes of fame by modeling for a public service announcement warning people to watch their step as they get off the train. When we transferred on our ride home, we saw one of the few remaining posters, allowing us all to have some fun. (Even more fun when a guy standing there thought Uncle Eric actually looked more like the guy on the poster)...
...when we got back, we heard all about Jonas' great day. Jonas, of course, was doing just fine as he had a bus to play with...
...and then he enjoyed some fun play time with Uncle E's hat, which fit his 97th percentile head just fine...
...well, maybe not just fine...
...and what better way to cap off your first full day in New York than with some alfresco dining, with a side of truck of course...
...one great adventure behind us, several more to go.
